Chicago artist and Springer School and Center alumna Emily Moorhead-Wallace spent two weeks with students teaching them how to make wood cut prints and also using the original carved wood to create an outdoor bench for the on-campus student garden. All students learned with Emily during their art classes and a smaller group of eight-graders worked on the collaborative outdoor sculpture bench. Digital Reception 4/25
Saturday April 25th, artists Janet Austin and Emily Moorhead-Wallace are hosting a digital reveal of their completed pollinator habitat sculpture, Meg Chilidae, Prairie Sanctuary. Click Here to enter digital opening! Through an online opening reception of video and photography, Emily and Janet will share details about the sculpture and how to support native pollinators. This event coincides with the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day and subsequent celebrations from The Evanston Ecology Center as well as International Sculpture Day sponsored by The International Sculpture Center in Hamilton, New Jersey.
