I will be teaching a beginning sculpture workshop on Sunday’s this fall. ages: 9-14 years Sculpture bridges the gap between art and everyday objects. Focus on the basics and build skills to create artwork in three dimensions. The Sport of Ecology
This month the Miami University Middletown Campus Galleria features the work of Emily Moorhead in The Sport of Ecology. The sculpture and collage drawings that line the walls point to the ecological dilemma of finding food and shelter for survival and how this process effects our environment. The exhibition will be on display from October 1st to November 5th open during normal Johnston Hall Hours of Monday through Thursday 8am to 7pm and Friday’s 8am to 2pm. The closing reception will be held on Thursday, November 3rd 2 to 4pm.
Introduction
Emily Moorhead holds a BFA in Sculpture from Miami University of Ohio and an MFA in Interdisciplinary Arts from Washington University in St. Louis. Moorhead has been included in many prestigious national exhibitions. She has been honored with grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council, Miami University, and Washington University. Additionally, Moorhead has participated in artist residencies with the Torpedo Factory in DC and Fugscreens in Chicago. She is currently an art handler/preparator for Northwestern University’s Block Museum and the Loyola University Museum of Art.
